Are celebrities overpaid?!
Question: there is no average. each celeb's pay is based on their previous success in getting audiences to theaters. the highest paid celebs are those with a consistent history of getting high ticket sales for their films. this is referred to as their appeal. and this fluctuates depending on current events. tom cruise's appeal plummeted after 20+ yrs of having consistently high appeal after the oprah/couch thing and his crazy scientology ramblings. will smith and reese witherspoon are some of the highest paid. plus, some celebs endorse other products, so they may be making tons of money that isn't even related to their acting/music. typically,

from an economic standpoint, they aren't overpaid. they are paid the amount that our free market has said their skill/talent/product is worth. just like a person working at mcdonald's is paid the amount that our free market says their service is worth.
from a typical american citizen's standpoint, i think they are grossly overpaid.

They are severely overpaid. They are paid more than teachers!!!! or even the police. Does that mean they are more important than a teacher or a cop.

Some celebrities(like Oprah) are so rich,you wonder why they even deserve all this fame and money. All you need to do today is show your naked ***,be liked by the public(because the mass has been brainwashed through advertising) and you get a million dollar contract.Don't wry,even money doesn't make them happy anymore. They all end up in the gutter anyway(look at Britney)

No, Celebrities are not overpaid. There is money in acting like it or not, because movies, TV shows and commercials make money, the celebrity at hand are getting paid for advertising. Did you know that everyday when you go out and buy something you helping pay for some celebrities pay check. For example when you buy something from Cover Girl your paying Queen Latifah because she is there spokes person right now. It's politicians you should be angry with because there the ones riping you and me off Royally.
