Why is Elvis called king of rock?!
Question: what i know is elvis is basically a copy cat music wise. how can we call him the king of rock when he copied his dancing, style of singing, and clothing style from black people that were already doing it? that doey cox movie was just a fun and joke movie, alot of it is true, all elvis did was basically be the middle guy, he brought what he learned and made it popular to white ppl simply cause he was white.

You have no proof that Elvis Presley copied anyone,
so you can't assume anything.
people call him king because he was the icon of rock and roll music.
because he pretty much invented this type of upbeat rock music in a time when classical band crap was all the better....this was the time of the teenager and teens enjoyed listening to this music because it was somewhat rebelious and much more different in comparison to what their parents listened too. He is the king of rock because he not only pretty much invented it, but he totally rocked it out. literally

My own opinion of course, but if you've ever seen Elvis live (i.e 68 Comeback Special) you see someone who is just dripping with talent, not just a copycat. I recognized this fairly early on, even though I was not a huge Elvis fan.
He was a great musican and brought the goods to the table, without the benefit of 25 backing dancers and high tech effects.
