Can you believe the ego of Whoopie Goldberg on The View?!
Question: On the view, while the other hosts were talking about Patrick Swazye and his cancer and how hard it must be on him, Woopie pipes in, "When I (I) won MY (my) oscar, the only person I (I) thanked was Patrick. I (I) won an oscar cause of him."
She can't stop talking about herself and her meaningless accomplishments even for a brief moment when she talks about a "friend" who has recently been diagnosed with cancer.

Watching The View gives me a serious headache. I'm embarassed for my gender.
And I agree, Whoopie is such an egotistical know-it-all who won't shut up and thinks she's so incredible.
The View needs to be ended NOW and these women muzzled.

I think she needs a makeover. I did not see that... but that's messed up.
shes one of the worst people on tv and in general, she needs to get a clue and look at the world before making opinions, like they say, you make opinions based on your knowledge and she has no knowledge on things she talks about therefore rendering her an idiot

Whoopie Goldberg has a sick ego bigger than Opera. They really believe their own crapolla. I always flip the channel if either of them pop on the screen. Cannot stand them.
that pisses me off. I like her as an actress and like him as an actor..she doesnt have to be like that

In context I cannot say that that was wrong, though I do not like Whoopie in general. I do like Condi and she is far more talented than Whoopie.
I think maybe you should stop being so sensitive and see into what she actually said. because as part of what the View is, different peoples (the moderators) points of view. Whoopi gave praise to Patrick, where as she knows full well the extent of his illness. She did give him praise. And by the way what are your GREAT accomplishments... so we can appreciate why you want to marginalize Whoopi's
Apparently she probably didn't realize that it made some people in the audience question her meaningless banter, but it looks like she was trying to change the subject about Patrick's illness.
If it is disturbing you, you should bring it up to The View or the television network about her insensitivity and boastfulness. It may change Whoopi's behavior.
Since I don't watch the show and believe it's a program with a whole bunch of cackling hens, I'd rather read a book or look at the news network on updated events.
