You could call him "ungrateful", but I don't think that meets the definition of "hypocrite". Now if he complained about actors being paid too much money and then complained about not making enough money, THAT would make him a hypocrite.
And who knows his financial situation? Maybe he's worried that in a few years he won't be able to work any more, and he wants to make sure he's financially set. Getting old is not cheap.
You are right about him and Scotland. Those who do not live in the country (or any other country they are invoved in) and bang on and on about its independence should shut up. Separatists are just a bunch of hooligans and trouble-makers. Look at Belgian and Kosovo and Tamil Elam and Texas.
