The scarring is the result of a condition he had as a child called discoid lupus, which makes the immune system hyperactive and attacks normal tissue. It causes blisters, especially in the facial area, or around the eyes, and when they burst, they leave those scars.
He did not participate in some scarification ritual like many believe!

i always wondered that to but i never thought it to deeply, mybe its just a signiture look that is made by makeup..... dunno realy, but u never no wat could happen with a dude like him lol
