Who defines "celebrity" I would,t know or give a hoot about them if I meet them in the street .They are a boring bunch of farts for the most part.

No idea. More than half the celebrities that appear on TV chat shows I have never heard of
i totally agree wid u a h8 them all and they all either end up goin crazy or goin to jail
because so many things around us are marketed towards them
we are manipulated into thinking they have the perfect life and so in return we idolise them

A study( the name and exact purpose of which escapes me) was conducted and found that it's actually beneficial to think about the problems in other people's lives for a variety of reasons, including that it helps people think about troubling subjects without it actually being directly related to them.
It's just comforting to watch trouble happen without it being your trouble. Also, it gives people an opportunity to put their own problems in perspective. You may have debt and a speeding ticket, but Britney Spears shaved her head!
Celebrities have the money and lifestyles almost everybody would want and everything they do they seem to do in spectacular fashion from Britney shaving her head and her stints in rehab to Angelina and Brad adopting children from what seems to be every continent of the world.
The things celebrities get to do are what many of us could only ever dream of being able to do and some people like to see them crash and burn while others dream of the lifestyle whether it be the lavish weddings, huge parties or beautiful houses and material possesions.
people want to live luxurious lives like them and get money for doing nothing much
alot of my friends are, i dont see why
yeh i may have a couple favourite actors i like
but its not like i need to know the latest goss on their lives
they were just lucky enough to get a big break
there are more important things to do in life than being obsessed with someone

A few of them are worth admiring for their good deeds, and generosity to charity. Others I can care less about.
