Good point. I don't know much about the rules re getting visa. I thought that there was a blanket policy that if you have a conviction then they won't let you enter the country. I guess there must be some discretion to let certain people in if they want to but I cannot see any logic on this one. Wasn't Mark Thatcher refused an entry visa as well ? His (ex?) wife is American as I recall.
