Well it really depends. I think artists like Alanis Morisettee, Ingrid Michaelson, Colbie Callait, and Corrinne Bailey Rae are all pretty popular now and do not use sex to advertise. You could also consider Gwen Stefani to be someone who is classy and has great music.

The greatest female voice ever. Sade. No one else can touch her. The reason she doesn't get her dues is because like you say she's not trashy and she doesn't sit her child on her lap while driving.
You know, Vanessa Hudgens is quite pretty though. You can check her out. I loved her from her Disney channel movie "High School Musical". I was almost addicted to her until her nude photos were published on the internet. Wish she hadn't done that. there. anyway, she's good.

Well, my all-time favorite female singer is Linda Ronstadt. She relies on her unbelievable vocal power rather than gyrating her crotch all over the place. There are younger singers though who, as far as I know, have the image of being modest, at least in public. There is Sheryl Crow. There is Ana Nalick. There is KT Tunstall. Most of these women are singer/songwriters who play instruments other than just vocal abilities. Oh, yeah, there is Joan Osbourne who is great vocally and as a writer and she definitely is not skany in the least, but very very talented. Her best CD though is "Relish" as opposed to both earlier and later releases--so if you check her out, check out that CD.
