Celeb crush and reality?!
Question: Simply put, I have a huge crush on a celebrity - a long crush - that has lasted years now - and I've written several songs based on her.
I've tried my best to get over her, but nothing seems to help.
I guess the real problem is that a part of me say "You don't have a shot" while another says "Yes you do" and of course the 3rd part saying "You don't really know this person - she could be a duplicate Paris Hilton in disguise" which is actually the real reason why I want to get over it or better yet, act on it and find out for myself.
And I'm not infatuated with her because of looks but because of her character (which I read as conservative, modest, down to earth etc...).
And I know that people say that celebrities are just big fakes and such, but I keep thinking "What if she isn't"?
What would you do if you were in my position?

God... I'm stuck in the same situation actually. I have a huge thing for an artist (singer, acoustic) who is AMAZING. He's the most brilliant person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting or hearing about.. and its not just that he's gorgeous, but he's ... something else. He's really really deep, and it feels like when you listen to his music you really really get a look inside his soul, and his soul is something amazing. He cares so much about his family and his friends (he's not that big of a star internationally yet, so i've had a few chances to meet him and his equally famous family).
Sometimes I think I have no chance either, but then other times I just feel so compelled.. its like no matter what I do or where I go, I always see things that remind me of him and always bring it back to me that maybe it is possible. Maybe in the grand scheme of it all ... I could possibly end up with him.
The sad thing is that how well can you possibly know someone who you've never spent 1 on 1 time with right? You're absolutely right, she/he could possibly be a complete jerk or a complete slut and you'd never know because everything in the industry is image (and a squeeky clean one is the best right?). But... if a part of you (like a part of me) is telling you that you KNOW she's not like that... then I'd listen. I honestly don't think Mandy is a bad girl, I think she's who she says she is...
Even though she is a great movie star and amazing singer, she has million of fans too and you have to remember this. Yes it is unlikely that you will end up with her, but as long as the chances aren't 0%... you should never really truly give up. At least thats what I'd do. I mean go on with your life, date other people and maybe over time you'll get over her.. she'll just end up being a person who influenced your life (which isn't bad at all)...

aw, thats so cute! I think she really is down to earth, she seems like a sweet person, and shes hardly EVER in tabloids (which is a good thing, most tabloid celebs end up in rehab)
maybe get an actual girlfriend??
