How would you get started as a young musician?!
Question: If you wanted to get "discovered" and you dont have any "contacts" what is a good way to get discovered at an early age (16-17)?
By this, i mean like a band that works for disney (ie Jonas Brothers, all of them)

Starting a Myspace music page has been very successful for many bands and singers. So id definitely do that, no harm in it, upload of few of your songs, add some people who might be able to lead you to bigger things.
Also maybe try to pick up some local gigs, send out demo tapes to the people you want to get discovered by, let them know you are around.. persistence pays off, so dont give up, keep at them.

You definitely should get a few online profiles going, I.E. Myspace, Craigslist, ETC. From there you should get a solid demo disc profiling your skills. Upload samples to your sites and always carry a few copies on you to pass out. Try to get a few performances in front of a live audience done, even if its just your family in the garage,this will build confidence. Lastly, dont be afraid to talk it up a little with other musicians at music stores , dont be boastful of you or your band;s talent, but be open minded and ready to jam with anyone.
