What happened to Eminems wife?!

I think her current legal name is Kimberly Mathers, but Eminem has referred to her as Kim (along with derogatory names)!. They have lived a life of drama!. They have gone back and forth as far as being married and divorced!. I think that they are currently separated, (possibly divorced now) "for good"!. I heard that she had problems, but I am not sure if they were anger management issues, along with drug abuse, etc!. and was in jail for a period of time!. During her problems, Eminem got custody of his daughter and a niece who I think is named Whitney!. He has been laying low it seems for quite awhile!. When you mention Eminem everyone thinks 'bad boy' and this is simply not true!. He is an artist who created a character and is a responsible father outside of this!. He has custody of his daughter and he gained full custody of his niece many years ago now!.!.!.what court in the world is gonna give him custody of a child that isn't his if he has 'problems'!.
