No, I don't think the song was the reason!. I think that Jason has a huge number of fans, as does Brooke, so that even though they weren't at their best last night their fans kept them on!.
I don't think Carly has the fan base that some of the others do!. Too many people have heard about her history of having a failed contract in the past and her previous association with Randy Jackson, which made people think that her even being on Idol wasn't fair!. Besides, her singing is "shouty" and screaming, and I don't think that she half as good as TPTB at American Idol wanted us to think she is!. It was time for her to go!. YES!. I came on answers today specifically looking to see if other people felt the same way!. Both times I listened to her sing it, my husband looked at me and said, "This song is extrememly blasphemous!." And I do think it hurt her!. I think she sang WAY better than either Brooke or Jason on Tuesday night (I wasn't impressed with last night's performance of it), but the song choice just didn't sit well with me!.
