I found it reather insulting that Paula said, "Obviously popularity is important in this contest!."!.!.!.!.Or words to that effect!.!.!.In other words!.!.!.!."You are safe ONLY because people like you, not because you were good!."

I don't think for a moment that Brooke will win!.!.!.!.BUT!.!.!.!.!. She has her fan base just as young David A!. does!. And I agreed completely with Simon!.!.!.!.!.His performance was very forgettable!.!.!.!.!.VERY!.!.!.!.Yet he's still in!.
MILLIONS of people are voting!.!.!.!.!.No one has millions of friends!.!.!.!.!. The fans are deciding!.!.!.!.!. Period!.

It's true!. They do have fans!. I believe that's what's kept Jason in so long!. The screaming teens tell it all!. The same goes for David A!. even though I think he's a better singer and should still be there!. But, people like Syesha and Carly don't have that!. They are good singers but they don't have the fan base that will sit by the phone dialing for two hours!. The good part about it is that most of them whether they win or lose will get record contracts since there are producers who watch this show too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think it shouldnt be based solely on popularity, the point of being an american idol is finding the best singer in the competition!. A singer who can fit in with the music industry, has an amazing voice, unique sense of style and touch the audience with her talent all at the same time!. I dont understand how ppl can just vote for an idol just because the way they dress or act, for goodness sakes the show is about finding the next superstar!!! I dont like how these fans are judging the singers, its sad if they are keeping a contestant in for another reason when their vocal skills arent as good as the rest!. For ex) last yr, sanjaya should of been gone a long time ago, but everyone kept going on abt how cool his hair is!. lol!. Paula just says anything lol!. seriously!! dont u think!? Sometimes i think her remarks are off topic lol I think David Cook is a great singer, has great style and deserves to be in!. i agree that popularity esecially at this point figures in because most people have decided on a contestant and the only change are the voters foe the ones voted off and new voters!.
I felt srry for carly and syesia for it was their best night and both had a good collection of songs but lost due to popularity
i felt that brooke and jason would be in the bottom 2 b/c of brookes discomfort and jasons lack of interest in the song

I didn't take offense at her comment!. I think she merely meant each of them has built a solid fan base at this point!. Those people will vote for their favorite no matter how bad they are on any given week!. Jason was awful this week, but was not even bottom two!. His fan base, probably teenebopper girls, voted for him anyway!.
Poor Syesha seems to have the smallest fan base as she is in the bottom 3 quite a bit, but has been saved by people who vote on how she did this week!. So there is both a popularity and a performance aspect to the voting each week!.
I thought Jason and Brooke should have been the bottom two this week (even though I love Brooke) with Jason going home, but neither was even in the bottom two!.
