Question: Pro Athletes: Celebrities or not!?
Well I hear it all the time, "Athletes are NOT celebrities", but according to the definition of CELEBRITY:
a widely known person; "he was a baseball celebrity"
fame: the state or quality of being widely honored and acclaimed

That is exactly what they are: A well known person!.
Now don't get me wrong I think that athletes are talented, but truthfully, does talent make them any different or put them into a different category than any other well known person!?
My opinion is that professional athletes are indeed celebrities!. They have their names in papers, they make the money (okay, some of them do), and they are susceptile to the same kind of scrutiny that other celebrities are!.

I would definitely classify PRO athletes as celebrities, especially the ones with the 7 and 6 digit incomes =p! Eg cristiano ronaldo, beckam!.!.!.who doesnt know them!?!!?!.!.!.they do adverts, commercials, they r in magazine as much as any actor and actresses!.!.they r famous hence celebrities in my opinion/Www@Enter-QA@Com

I consider them Athletes!. Yes they make millions but unlike Hollywood stars who need doubles to do their work b/c they are afraid to do it themselves the athlete actually does everything themselves & they work hard to perform at their best!. im not saying they should be making the milllions they do but i think they bust their behinds & work harder than the Hollywood star who uses doubles for the stunts but yet they get the credit!. & for the record they are Athletes! not i repeat not Celebrities!Www@Enter-QA@Com
