Duran Duran have lost their popularity nowadays?!

Question: Duran Duran have lost their popularity nowadays!?
were they adored & admired by the young girls in the 80′s!?

but it makes me really wonder: the old gentlemen such as Ronnie Dio (Sabbath), Ian Gillan (Purple) or Robert Plant (Zeppelin) are still able to collect at least 5!.500 youngsters in the big hall nowadays!. They are far older than Duran Duran musicians!.

Are Purple, Sabbath and Zeppelin′s music stronger and having more charismatic than any pop disco junky bands!?
I believe that this thought might be true cos their heavy guitar players are the greatest!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Agreed!.
Led Zep and Deep Purple are 'legendary', and their music was years ahead of it's time - timeless in fact - whole lotta love, stairway to heaven eg, Highway Star, Smoke on the water, the creations of genius's!. Duran Duran was more for 'the here, the now'!. However, one track I reckon was a true classic, ORDINARY WORLD!. That one will survive I think and is still very much listened to, I love that song - it still sends shivvers down me spine when I listen to it now!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Simon Le Bon is going to be 50 this year!. The other members are in their late 40s!. I think that would make them just a few years younger than the other musicians you have mentioned!. However Duran Duran went on a tour just a few years ago and did quite well, selling out several venues around the world!. You might want to do some research about this topic before posting another similar question!. They have a different type of music than heavy metal !.!.!. maybe its not your cup of tea as witnessed by your use of the stellar term 'pop disco junky bands' (highly intelligent I may ad)!.

I don't know if I would say that either type of music is 'stronger' or has more 'charisma' than the other!. Its really just a matter of personal taste with fans!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

A couple years ago, they came here to Denver and were charging a minimum $50 per ticket and still sold out!. Granted, it's not Wimbley Staduim, but they had such an "80's" sound that when music took the drastic shift in the 90's to Grunge, "whiners of the month" and Gangsta, they were too "dated"!.!.!. too bad, really !.!.!. their Astronaut album was really good, and so was "Big Thing"!.!.!. it just sounded to "80s" for the ears of the new generation!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I have their first three albums which I love and play every so often!. With favs like 'Lonely In Your Nightmare', 'Save A Prayer' and 'Rio', they were my fav band of the 80's until I got into rock bands like Guns N Roses etc!.
Duran Duran were awesome but I haven't got a clue what half of their more recent stuff is!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Boy Racer has got it completely right!.
They were very popular for what they were, but were never intended to be around this long!. Basically, their music was disco, light-hearted, bubble-gum music which was never going to last!. I can barely remember any of their songs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Its because they appeal to broader and more popular audience, Rock will always be the biggest music genre - period!. I like Duran Duran but cannot put them alongside Rock giants!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
