Question: Can anybody explain the significance of 'She's got Greta Garbo stand-off sighs, she's got Betty Davis eyes'!?
Its a line from the Kim Carnes song 'Betty Davis eyes'!. i really like the song and i know Garbo and Davis were both actresses but i was wondering wether anyone could give me any info on why these two connections were used!? Were they famous for those sort of things!? and whats a stand off sigh!?

Greta Garbo was a recluse and the famous line, " I vant to be alone!." will forever be linked with her!. A "stand off sigh" would be a Garboesque exhale and a look that says" leave me alone"!.
Betty Davis had fantastic eyes!. Even late in her life , after her stroke, she still had those eyes!.
