My 26 year old boyfriend watches Hannah Montana, should i be worried.?!

Question: My 26 year old boyfriend watches Hannah Montana, should i be worried!.!?
my 26 year old boyfriend watches Hannah Montana and other childrens programs!. we have no kids!. he records them on our DVR and watches them when he gets the chance!. some of the other shows he likes are Doug, Rugrats, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Cory in the House, Drake and Josh, Hey Arnold, Batman, Even Stevens, Kim Possible, Pete and Pete, Fairly Odd Parents, and Sponge Bob Square Pants, Saved by the Bell!. i'm no so much concerned with those shows as i am with him watching Hannah Montana!. maybe i'm over reacting!. i mean he dosen't buy her merchandise and he hates the music (he said "See You Again" was catchy) and he never talks about it!. he just watches it and laughs and thats it!. it's genuine laughter, not his fake "work laugh" as it's called and i haven't found any Hannah/Miley sites on the computer that he's visited!. i asked him what he thought of Miley and he said she was funny and reminded him of I Love Lucy, which he watched growing up!.

i asked if he thought she was pretty and he said "she's cute", then i asked him if it was sexual and he gave me this mean look like he couldn't believe i'd go there!. he didn't really try to defend himself after i said that, and for some reason i took comfort in the fact he didn't get all defensive and freak out, i would have been suspicious if he had i think!.

his favorite character is the dark haired kid i think his name is Oliver!. he said Oliver reminds him of himself at that age and all the shows remind him of when he was a kid and all the mischief he got into!. i can vouche, he's got some pretty entertaining stories!. pulling a table cloth of the table in the teachers lounge and painting the back of someone's house pretending he was in a def leppard music video!.

i just find it odd, that someone like him would do something so innocent!. he keeps up with current events, politics, sports, reads news papers, books, comic books, and watches the History Channel almost 24/7, and his music collection is astounding, over 10 thousand songs on his iPod and there's very few bands he dosen't know and his DVD collection is over 300 DVDs he knows a lot about film and music and just general knowledge!. then he goes and watches these kid shows and laughs at them!.

am i blowing this out of proportion or is this weird!. i know he watches more kid shows than Hannah Montana but it's the Hannah Montana that bothers me the most!. he records everything he watches on DVR and saves them, and he records more than kid shows, he saves all the Dave Letterman and Regis and Kelly's and History Channel documentaries and everything else he watches on there!. saves them on the computer to watch later!. he said he wanted a "History of Pop Culture Library" on his desktop!.

myabe i'm over reacting!. is this normal!? Grown men watching shows aimed at kids and preteens!.

I can see why you might be worried!. It does seem a little strange, but don't worry!. What most people don't realize is that shows like Hannah Montana can actually be funny!. My dad makes fun of Hannah Montana all the time, but occasionally he watches it if I am and he has laughed pretty hard at some jokes!. It really is an innocent and fun show it's just that most people freak out because it's from Disney!. I wouldn't be worried at all!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Everybody likes what they like!.
its completley normal!.!.!. if you actually watch the shows, you'll find that there funny!.

Its kind of like sexual fetishes, you never know what you'll like!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

it's totally normal, he needs to allow the kid in him a little time (:

anybody who watches hanah montana has a problem, but your not alone!. they have this cool hanah montana rehab center called "disney channel"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, first off there is no such thing as normal!. I think he is just watching it without knowing why he himself enjoys it!. I would say it is better him watch that then porn! Www@Enter-QA@Com

Nick shows are OK to watch!. It's some of his Disney choices that I'm worried about!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

So basically, you are either insecure and threatened by this 15 year old girl on a TV programme!. Or you are insinuating that he is a pedophile!. Or both!.

You appear to be trying to excuse his watching kids programmes by providing reasons and evidence of his intelligence!.

Well, he either is a pedophile and is watching the cartoon shows to cover the fact that he just really wants to watch little (live) kids!.
OR he is such a thinker and so intelligent that he needs the most light-hearted and brainless stuff to give himself a break!. Or the obvious nostalgia, reliving childhood scenario!.
The last 2 are more likey, however it is actually quite likely he does fancy Miley Cyrus and enjoys watching it for that reason!.

I have to question your relationship towards him if you are being SO judgemental even when there are plenty of legitimate reasons for him to be watching and recording them!. Including specifically his little pop culture collection!.

There is nothing (besides ridicule/peer pressure) that says a 26 year old can't watch these shows!. Many adults with children watch and enjoy the programmes their kids watch!. Particularily programmes like Spongebob!.

Either your relationship or your self esteem is in great trouble!. His choice of TV should be the least of your worriesWww@Enter-QA@Com

You're definitely over reacting!. I know men as old as 30 who watch Spongebob!. Men's minds work differently from females and they don't mature as quick as females!. They do tend to still watch cartoons well into their late ages!. Hell, even I still watch Rugrats, Arthur, and Doug from time to time!. It's nice to relive being a kid!. Grown men DO watch cartoons!.!.!.i know plenty!. it's perfectly normal!.

**added**
I mean, you do see your own parents and grandparents watching shows that were on tv from when THEY were little, right!? Such as LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, Raggedy Ann, older versions of mickey mouse etc right!? It's the same thing! THEY'RE reliving their childhood and so is he!.!.it's just that when he was a kid, he didn't watch boring old shows like that!.!.!.he watched what every little american kid did!.!.!.cartoons!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

nick shows maybe !.!. it's cute

BUT HANNAH MONTANA !! i'm 18 and i would never watch this , it has no talent , it only takes 7 or 8 years old to satisfy then !.!.

he's either gay or has a problem !.!. a girl that's a normal girl then she wears a wig but no one knows it's her comoooooooon !!Www@Enter-QA@Com

well, i took the time to read it!.!.lol (some people are just so rude)
i dont think it is weird, me and my husband watch it, i mean i have two middle school aged sisters that do too, but i even catch us watching it when we are by ourselves!.!.it is funny!.!.and i think it is a little funny that you say it reminds him of his childhood and stuff because that is the reason i watch some of these kid shows too!.!.i mean, i have a son, but he is 19 months old, and the only thing he really watches is spongebob!.!.lol
but i love cartoons and stuff that you named!. but no, my husband watches hannah montana too!.!.dont worry, as long as he isnt in love with her, it is just a tv show, at least he is getting a laugh!.!.ha, we all have our own weird little quirks ya know!.!.!.hope i made you feel better!.!.to be completely honest, i actually like some of the songs, and have went to the extent of putting some of them on my ipod!.!.lol that is my confession!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Sounds like he doesn't want to grow up!. There is something about those kid shows that he finds comforting which isn't necessarily a bad thing!. It is easier for some people to grow up, but, there are still a lot of adults that cling to childhood toys or entertainment, to ease away stresses of everyday life!. Think back to when you were little, it was fun, and you didn't have a care in the world!. I admit I still watch certain cartoons, saved by the bell, and I even bought all of the Jem episodes on DVD!. When I am sick I watch Home Alone every time and I am 24!.

I understand where you are coming from and others probably would feel the same way you do!. I think its his inner kid and bringing that out makes him happy!.

If it really bothers you that much, suggest to put something else on, or popping in a movie!. All and all, I think it isn't so bad and I don't think you should over analyze!.

Good Luck hun! Www@Enter-QA@Com

First of all, how dare he compare I Love Lucy with Hannah Montana!.!.!.not even close!! (i luv I Love Lucy)!. Anyhow, I don't think there is anything wrong with watching all those shows, I watch them with my kids (I'm 28) and my hubby watches them at times too!. Maybe it brings out the kid in him to watch them, it could be a way of releasing stress and relaxing and not having to deal with real life crap for just a little while (like the news)!. Some of the shows are a little funny, and you have to admit, everything else on tv is sooo boring!! Nothing but reality tv shows! I wouldn't stress off of it, there's nothing wrong with him at all!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i don't believe that there is nothing wrong with him watching cartoons and stuff!. most people (guys and girls) still watch cartoons and kids shows from time to time!.

i leave it on boomerang & cartoon network all the time!.

i'm 26 myself (well 27 in like a few days)

but i think that most if not the majority of people in our age group don't mind watching cartoons because it reminds us of when we were growing up in the 80's and watching he-men and thundercats!.

i say if there's no harm being done then its okay!.

now i have to ask this!.!.!.if he was a stick in the mud and always serious and stern would you think that there was a problem with him!?

but i feel that it is always a good thing that some people retain some childlike memories and/or stuff, because being serious all the time is no fun at all!.

i guess it's just balancing out here and there for him and people like us that can enjoy a cartoon yet still watch something meant for adults & mature audiences!.

good luck though

big smiles from brian o!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes!. you should be worried!.
I'm 22, and I don't watch that crap!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

YES!!! BE VERY WORRIED!Www@Enter-QA@Com
