my mate laughed his head off - they just made me feel really sad, and I dont want to protest, but I dont want to watch Gervais anymore!.

I don't see why folks think he is funny anyway!. I watched 'The Office' for a while in the hope of seeing something new and amusing!. Not a chance!. Nothing funnier since either!.

The jokes are shock humour, you laugh because your not meant/allow to!.
I thought the jokes were funny and original!.
If you watch the sketch, the joke is not actually about kids having cancer!. That is just the theme!. However it is still is a "bad taste" joke, but that is Gervais's comedy style and the style of many great comedians (ie pushing their jokes to the edges of acceptablility)!.
I would say that if someone can make people laugh about cancer, esp cancer in kids, and their job is comedy, then they are pretty good at their job!.
However I know alot of people wont agree!.!.!.!. But that is the great thing about free speech!.!.!. So enjoy it while you can!.

My niece was diagnosed with cancer at just 11 months old!. It was a truly harrowing time as we had no idea wether or not her tiny body would reject the chemo!.
I had to watch my sister nurse her poorly child and watch my once healthy niece deteriorate and loose all her hair!.
My niec is 3 now and thankfully in remission and I thank the greater good that she made it so unless Gervais has been through an ordeal like this one himself then who is he to laugh at a child who may die from their desease !?
Mabe Gervais should try spending the night on a Children's Cancer ward like I did with my niece and maybe then he would see that there is no funny side in a child with cancer !Www@Enter-QA@Com

I agree that some of his stuff isnt funny and shouldn't be joked about although i think he does it to cause controversy and seek attention!. I personally think he has gotten a bit to big for his boots!. If you watched extras christmas special he has tried to go all serious he should just stick to being funny
