'Anime' Is a term used by the Japanese, which can describe the animation in Japan.
Most people use this term, although others may call it "Cartoons" because they do not appreciate the art and storys of the animation, and believe all cartoons are for kids. ----Opinion
Anime was picked up about 60-70 years ago, and Manga was picked up about 300 years ago.
Mangas are flat out Japanese Comics, but it was developed 300 years ago, in even the most basic drawings. The common 'anime' eye or 'manga' eye was developed during this time.
