Michael Vick of the NFL / Dog Fighting?!

Question:

Michael Vick of the NFL / Dog Fighting?

Do you think he should be suspened this season of the NFL for his participation in dog fighting?

Answers:

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.

He owned the property - therefore, as the owner, he should know or be responsible for what goes on there. it is my understanding from the idictment that he did indeed know what was going on there.

he has admitted to being a part of Bad Newz kennels - the organization that staged the dog fights. That's kinda like being a member of the skin heads or KKK and then stepping back and saying, oh no, I didn't do this or that, you are affiliated or belong to a larger group, then in some way shape or form you at least support what they are doing!

innocent until proven guilty is a crock of poo poo. Every person that spouts off that phrase needs to think carefully about what that has come to mean. innocent until proven guilty now means in this country that the victim doesn't have any rights, only the perpetrator does. Innocent until proven guilty only works if the justice system really is blind and only means that if the justice system is perfect. What about OJ Simpson - is he innocent - because he was FOUND innocent in his court of law??!! Innocent until proven guilty is a nice sentiment, but in some cases, it's the stupidest thing ever. Evidence seals your guilt, not 12 people, not a judge, not the jury, not the press. You can have allll the evidence in the world stacked up to the nines and a good lawyer can confuse or bewilder 12 people who are not necessarily qualified for the job that has been literally FORCED upon them. What are the qualifications of hte people sitting in that box???!!! Nada. No qulaifications, and we put justice in their hands.

In some way shape or form he was involved, be it because he simply owned the property where this was taking place and covered it up or lied about knowing about it (it is a crime not to report a crime!), be it because he had dogs in the fight, be it because he betted on the fights (even if he was never there). He was involved. And people in the NFL, MLB, police, fire department, in a public view are ROLE models for young people. They should be held to a higher standard than Joe Schmo off the street. Kids look up to this guy, want to be like this guy, want to emulate him. And now he has become involved with the lowest of lows. How many kids in this country will view what he did as "cool", how many will want to do it because Michael Vick did? That is why he should be suspended - that is why he should be banned from sports. He has tarnished his image - guilty or innocent legally - he was associated with gruesome acts of inhumanity on creatures that did not have a choice. On creatures that we fought to the death for man's personal pleasure, enjoyment, and money. What he did tarnishes the image of pit bulls even further - but I hope - if any good can come of this, that it brings awareness to the brutality of dog fighting and brings attention to this so called sport. I hope that this angers the nation and brings us all together to say - we will not tolerate this kind of brutality against an animal, and this needs to be a crime punishable by a lot more than 6 years in prison. If we speak for the dogs, then even though those involved are lost, so many more can be saved.
