Are guinea pigs hapless victims or risk takers without peer?!

Question:

Are guinea pigs hapless victims or risk takers without peer?

Answers:

We at PETA have addressed this issue many times.

We anguish at the role the hapless guinea pig has played in the ongoing human insults to our animal friends. The degradation that species must feel! The connotation that they are nothing but a "guinea pig" for some useless test or comparison.

To our eternal shame, humans also use "lab rats" (shudder) and invoke the term "scape goat" thereby adding to our rodent friends, our capra friends as well.

The noble canine is abused as well. Harnessed to a yoke of slavery and subservience they are forced to lead visually impaired humans through their day to day activities. And then, as if further degradation is not needed, we refer to them as "seeing eye dogs". The have TWO eyes!

Our avian friends are equally abused. Why should a canary give its life for a bunch of dirty coal miners? The noble loon is not exempt either. "Crazy as a loon". How do you think that affects the feelings of that wonderful bird? How about "dumber than a dodo". Well, ok, they don't care anymore. But that's not the point.

And what about that abusive and cruel activity of "shooting fish in a barrel'? And speaking of barrels, how happy can a bunch of monkeys be confined in a container without light and no possibility of escape?

Oh, it just goes on and on!

Where is the hue and cry for these creatures? Where is the justice??
