Last night I was watching the episode where Will goes to the hospital to get his tonsels out and he meets a funny old man that is his roomate for the night. My question is, does the old man die at the end? They make it seem like he does, but then he come back in the end to talk to Will. Let me know what you think.

the old man passes away.
he comes back as a spirit to talk to will and gives him his hat so that he can have some fun of throwing the hat on the floor for the nurses to pick up while he is in hospital.
