Answers: yeah he will eventually..though he hasnt met up till episode 326(the latest episode)...Luffy's crew has to rival Shanks' at some point of time.
Zorro is already rivalling Mihawk.
the situation currently in the anime series is that Shanks is aware of Luffy's rise. yes
