Do you think there will be another season of Claymore?
**Warning** Possible spoilers if you haven't watched up through episode 26 yet.
I watched the last episode of Claymore yesterday. I really enjoyed that series and I was happy with the ending. But it sort of seemed like they left it open for another season. It seems like there's a lot of unresolved stuff with the "Organization" and we never did get to see the #1 and #2 Claymores from this era. And we didn't get to learn anything about the #5 Claymore with the scar on her face. Any other Claymore fans out there get the impression that more Claymore episodes are on the horizon?
Answers: When I read the wiki for the lists of episodes, it mentioned that Madhouse Studios does intend to extend the series to at least 52 eps (additional 26 eps) but 12 hours later when I checked back, that sentence has been edited, apparently. So now, I'm not sure...but I hope there will be.
Conversely, I wasn't really too happy with the finale. If you read the forum in Animesuki, you can see fan mails pouring in to blast the finale. First of all, Priscilla really do need to be killed. I mean, seriously, the whole purpose of why Clare became a Claymore was to avenge the death of her guardian/mentor. I really hate that Raki for stopping Clare. Gosh...I hate him so much...he is really such a weakling and a pansy after all. Can't anyone see that all he can do is cry the whole time...
Clare could have had her revenge but for that Raki to....I can't even put any words when he did what he did. Yes, I would love to find out if Irene is killed by Rafaela (as Irene is one of my fave character) and I was hoping that Alicia and Beth could make an appearance too - Dark Alicia looks so stunning in black. But I wanted Clare to kill Priscilla. As she said herself, the whole thing is just meaningless if she did not avenge for Teresa. I love Teresa, so when Clare did not kill Priscilla, I was very very upset.
There's no need to worry there won't be any story for the second season if Priscilla dies. Second season can focus more on the Organisation's effort to hunt down the renegades and Isley's revenge on Clare (for killing his woman). But for now, I hope that there will be a second season if only just to see Irene (hopefully) and Galatea again. I do wish that they will somehow get rid of that annoying pest (Raki) should there really be a second season. maybe going to be new episods of Claymore but i am not sure. I've a strong feeling that there will be given the popularity. They also diverged from the original manga quite a bit which can be a sign of original work being planned and as you pointed out, they did not tie up all the lose ends or explore all the featured charaters.
I'll certainly be keeping an eye on the anime sites and forums for more info which will trickle through once the large japanese fanbase finds out. Whilst no-one really knows, the general opinion is that there will be.
