I'm a real idiot when it comes to computers. I love to write fanfiction and would like to post some on FanFiction.net
If some body would be so kind as to give me extremely precise answers, that would be wonderful. I would really like to post some!
Answers: Well, first you have to own an account in ff.net. After activating your activation e-mail (which is subsequently sent to you after you apply for an account in ff.net), you can log in. After logging in, you'll see a couple of buttons on the left side in a panel. There are all sorts of options there and they're all pretty easy to understand as long as you read the instructions that come with them. To post a fic, click the 'documents' button. Upload the file you want to upload (MS word file...saved in your computer, or in a CD/diskette/USB/whatever), put a temporary name for it on the first blank (you'll see it, don't worry), and then click that button below ('submit document'). When you see the sign somewhere above that said 'file/document uploaded' in the Document Manager box you can now proceed to the next button which is your 'stories' button. Click it and watch out for the blue written options on top. If you're posting a new story, click the 'New Story' button. Remember that to post anything, you have to agree to the Terms of Agreement first. Not to worry, though, since this notice comes up once you click the 'New Story' button. simply click the' I agree' button in the Terms of Agreement. After that, a new window will appear and lets you choose under what category you want your fic to be in. Just click away until you find yourself in the 'fill-in the details' window (as i'd like to call it :P) where you put in the necessary details of your story (title, pairing, genre, summary, rating...etc.). Then click the button 'Submit Story' below and you're done. No need to worry about any detail missed in the 'details window'. These can be altered even after posting your fic.
