Answers: I am much, much, much, much older than you are, and I love anime. I also still buy a lot of manga, which wasn't available when I came upon what then was referred to as Japanimation. It would be a long time afterward before I heard the word "anime" then later learned about "manga". I've loved anime since the Sixties, when we used to watch "Speed Racer", which we just considered another cartoon though it looked different. I liked that look.

Later, I would encounter "Robotech", "Nausicaa and the Valley of the Winds" (I know the title can vary), then "Vampire Hunter D" (the original). It would be several years more before I saw the word "anime".

I think that, if Walt Disney had lived longer, he might have taken animation in a different direction. Where American animation is now, we're dreadfully behind, whether it's exploring the levels to which animation can rise or simply producing works that emphasize beauty, not the ugliness that threatens to prevail.

There is nothing to grow out of. Anime draws audiences of all ages. not really, there are animes out there for different ages, as long you enjoy watching animes there is no problem.
When you grow up you will just be busy with a lot of other things, so just watch them in your free time, while your eating or relaxing, watching animes is one of the best ways to relieve your mind from college or work. its your decision I am 16 going to be 17 soon and I am still watching anime I have seen people who are 28 and still watch. Maybe you'll soon find it boring you or maybe you'll like even to the point you'll tech your kids about it. I plan to watch until my mind says "okay you done" but so far I am still going to watch.
Don't forget anime is not meant just for kids. Judging by the ages of the people I see at Anime Conventions... no, definitely not. We're all doomed. ;) It depends. Many people start off liking anime when they are young, because anime are cartoons. As some people grow older, they might grow out of it, because they begin to see them more as just cartoons. However, I think it is when fans grow older and mature, it is certain anime genres which they grow out of but not all of anime itself.

Take me for example. I'm 18, and the first anime I watched was Sailor Moon back in '95. I was really into that as a young girl, and during middle school, it was Inuyasha. But as I grew older, I grew out of the romance epic and more shounen animes, and began liking the ones which were more action-packed, dramatic, mature, and whatnot.

I think some adolescents drop their love for anime for a while, because they get introduced to new teenage things, see their fetish for anime as something childish, and get embarrassed. But as you grow older, you tend to care less and less about what people think. It's like when an guy stumbles upon a comic book he used to read as a kid, he ends up collecting them as an adult for more sentimental reasons.

There were times when I didn't watch anime for a pretty long while or draw it the art style so much. Eventually find myself checking out a new series, catching sight of an interesting manga, or making a few anime sketches in my notebooks.

I never stopped liking anime, but I'm okay! Lol! It varies from person to person, and it really depends on how much you like it. I've liked anime since I was five years old, and nearly three decades later I'm still following anime. During that time I've outgrown plenty of other hobbies like building model planes and collecting baseball cards, yet I know people in the same situation as me that have chosen to keep their model building or baseball card collecting hobbies over watching anime over the years.

It's a matter of taste, and only you will know when or if you want to grow out of something that you like. I'm 36 years old and I love it as much as I ever did. The only thing that has changed is that when I was a kid I would have felt embarrassed about watching romance anime, but now I watch them all the time. No. no, lol, I'm just a year older than you, I'm 15, and I'm obsessed with something named "anime" I abandon my works to watch anime, I've seen so many older people who love anime more than I do, I have a friend who's 22 and she likes anime and manga more than I do!
