Answers: Why are The Simpsons yellow?

Matt Groening (creator of The Simpsons) decided to make The Simpsons yellow because it was different, bright and "it looks like there's something wrong with your television set." So now you know. Source(s):

Matt Groening (creator of The Simpsons) decided to make The Simpsons yellow because it was different, bright and "it looks like there's something wrong with your television set." So now you know. Hahahah random. Makes the eyes and the brain color blind. Now about that blue hair? It was too hard to come up with the right pigments for all the characters, so they just used a single yellow for most of the characters. Plus, it makes it more cartoony and iconic, compared to Family Guy and King of the Hill. I love that show but I honestly do not know...

I think it may just be something to make the show more unique.

Although Homer is named after Matt Groening's dad... The person who created them probably has no idea how to make flesh colour from the others! He wanted to be REALLY different I have no idea what is in the producers mind, but I think that most yellows are a happy color. And ya know, the Simpson's is a comedic cartoon.
