^_^ I have a friend that won't let their kids near it - one of the first demons that turns up in the story is this crow youkai that eats the hearts out of living men so it can nest in their chest cavities and control them like puppets ... MTV so rarely fufills my needs for asian mythology and twisted plot.
Inuyasha is considered a "soft" anime by most fans too - there is anime out there that I can't handle watching.
Back to the question at hand:
I haven't heard anything about them finishing the anime (but I hope they do.)
In the meantime: There are 5 movies you can watch as well as the series and the manga is ongoing.
