Why did they choose an unsexy actress to play rogue? when she was a sexy character?
i never realy read the comics
but as a kid i watched all the episodes of the cartoons series
and played alot at capcom marvel super heros VS games
and i remember rogue as a realy sexy kind of girl.
more then all the other characters.
but for the movie they picked some ugly girl.
and if i remember right she was involved with gambit

i do have one comics that was left from the 90's (my childhood) called "gambit"
showing rogue just like the in the tv cartoon. sexy. and with gambit.
so why the hell to choose an un sexy actress. the took halle barry to play storm, and storm as i remember was not a sexy character, an older woman. and halle barry is sexy... why not take a sexy girl for rogue.

Hollywood has a way of changing comics to make them more "viewer" friendly.
I am not sure why they did this with Rogue. Jean Grey is a total knock out in the comic books ( but aren't all the comic book ladies attractive?) and in the movie I though the actress playing her was nothing special. They took Rebbecca Romijin Stamos , whom I think is very attractive, and they covered with blue make-up. Look at Jennifer Garner playing Elektra .. She looks like a man exactly!!!!! WHERE IS GAMBIT??????? and yes rogue was supposed to be a very sexy. but thats what happens when people make movies from comics or videogames, cartoons. they screw it all up, and leave out important people. Just cuz she wasn't sexy to you doesn't mean no one else thought she was sexy. And, ya, what happened to Gambit? I don't know (perhaps name recognition - Anna Paquin did win an Oscar), but I agree with you. She not only is unsexy, but her acting is downright annoying. I grew up reading x-men comics, and Anna Paquin is NOT Rogue. She's so HHHHHOTTTTTTTTTT! So is Elektra! The movie foucused on the X-Menwhen they were younger so she was still a teen in the movie. Gambit was in the third one i think but he was still bad that was before he had his change of heart and became a good guy. So that is why she is with that frost guy Why was Jubilee limited to a few cameo scenes in both Professor Xavier's and Storm's classrooms?
Gambit was not present to simplify the movie plots. There was already Iceman for Rogue.
I think Anna Paquin is good looking. But, you are right, she is not sexy.
In the cartoon versions, Rogue was adopted by Mystique after she ran away from home as a teenager. She had worked for her before she joined X-Men. If the cartoon plot had to be adopted, the movie duration would be too long. That's why the movie plot was decided to be simplified (Rogue joined X-Men not long after she had ran away from home). At the end, you could not expect a teenager to be sexy. Yea they really could have used someone better! AND I WAS PISSED!! NO GAMBIT IN ANY OF THE EFFIN MOVIES! lol but they did mention his name in the second movie.. when they were gathering the list of mutants!!! i really hope he will be in the next movie! hehe and Mr Sinister! he was bad ***!! or Apocalypse!!!
