What does mainstream animes mean?!

Question: Mainstream anime is simply what is popular! Think of it as the batman of Japanese animation. Besides what others have provided which is a type of animation that everyone knows, I will go even further to say that it usually falls in the category of rated "PG" so the general public including kids can watch them.

For example Naruto and Bleach which both are shown in the US through Cartoon Network are good examples of mainstream anime. If you haven't had a chance to check them out, you definitely should!

Just in case if you need a place to see them I would recommend the following sites to see both Bleach and Naruto.

Bleach - http://videobleach.com
Naruto - http://tailedfox.com
