Fruits Basket - just go see it, everyone loves it. Its supposed to be an anime for girls but even guys like it. This is the best suggestion i can give

Fullmetal Panic- this has romance and action, you can go straight to watching the second season after the first couple of episodes of season one if you dont like action, since FMP fumoffu is all not action so much as the main characters messing around (just like in inuyasha they never get around to kissing)

Outlaw Star - This is set in the future in space, main character is a guy though. lots of action, and the romance really doesnt come in until like the very last or one or two before the last episode, its built kind of weird in that respect.


Trigun - ok i only mention this because its my favorite so you dont have to take this suggestion seriously, theres not much romance unless you count meryl but the whole series steers around that to a degree, theres as much action as inuyasha, also a fair amount of humor. Its also set in the future on another planet so its fairly adventurous

btw i saw that other dudes thing about tengen toppa gurren-lagann and if you like pure action and power that ones the best(i guess theres also a little romance but its not overly emphasized)

Tengen-Toppa Gurren Lagann makes every other anime look like stupid crap. It blows all of them out of the space oceans! 'cept maybe Beserk.

Let's see graphics? Blows 'em all away. Ep. 15 had 22000 frames, 10000 more than most other important episodes. They spent 40% of the budget on the final five episodes.

Storyline? The main character goes from digging holes in the ground to tearing holes in the universe.

The first fifteen episodes them traveling around and fighting beastmen. The rest are them fighting the Anti-spirals. And a recap.

The romance, his inspiration for tearing said holes in the universe is his girlfreind.

Gurren-Lagann is the BEST ANIME EVARZ!
