Please help me remember the title of a 1990's cartoon?!
Question: I've been trying to remember the title of a cartoon I watched when I was younger. I believe the cartoon was early 1990s. The cartoon was about 5 characters who could each control their own element: fire, water, earth, air, & space. Each time they would fight an enemy, samurai-like armor would form around them. And each specialized in their own weapon; the fire person used swords, the water used a trident, space used a bow. Each of their enemies would also have special powers and armor. One enemy could move his arms fast enough, that it would seem as if he had 6 arms.
As for the what happens in the story, my memory is a bit hazy. From what I remember they, in the middle of the series, the main characters get separated and become trapped within their own elements. For example, the earth character gets trapped in a rock, and the water character gets trapped under water. Eventually, they free each other from their prison.
Please help me remember the title. Its bothering me for a long time.

It keeps getting resurrected on American tv every once in a while but I think no one made it past the middle of season two. Cartoon Network picked it up a couple of years ago but didn't show much. You might be able to find it on a bt site if you wanna watch it. One of the better animes with english voices.

I believe the title was Ronin. I remember that series about the five warriors. When they transformed they were wearing samurai armor I remember red, blue, black, green (?), and yellow (?). I didn't watch too much of if it, but I'm pretty sure that was the name. One episode I did watch they were at a mansion that was on top of a mountain and the one wearing the red armor (Ryu?) was the main character fighting the enemy that had broken through the roof.
I'm sure it wasn't Captain Planet, because 6 kids used rings to call out a special being to save them from people who were trying to pollute the planet.

not captain planet. the fifth element was heart, not space. and they were multicultural kids that had magic rings from the spirit of the earth gaia (who was a strong black woman!) not samurai. no definitely not planet.
