Why are Naruto fans so ignorant?!
Question: Why are Naruto fans so ignorant about One Piece? They're all "OMG ONE PIECE IS SOOOO GAY I HATE IT OMG BUT I LOVE NARUTO"?
Uuuh... obviously they have only seen the old English dub (4Kids version) which I agree sucks, but shouldn't it be obvious something is wrong with it? They don't ever want to give it a chance. Why is that? Because if you ask me, One Piece >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Naruto. Yes, I've seen and read Naruto. I don't think it's very good. It gets too boring and the character development is poor.
Also, if you think I'm lying, just ask any REAL Japanese anime fan. Even they should know One Piece is the top-selling manga in Weekly Jump in Japan at #1, and Naruto is at #3. The One Piece anime even gets higher ratings than Naruto Shippuden... One Piece always makes it on the top ten, and if Shippuden's lucky enough it will too, but not within the top 5 like One Piece.
So answer me this, Naruto fans. First, can you watch the REAL One Piece, can you judge it then?

You probably met the wrong kind of fan. The kind that doesn't expand their horizon.
I am a Naruto fan and a One Piece fan. I also watch Bleach!They all started out as Mangas from Shonen Jump, and I love all of them, each has it's own favor and style.
Naurto only lost it flair for a bit because of all the nonsense fillers.
I have to admit One Piece is a change of pace from ninjas in trees and such. Plus One Piece has more mature humor. Naurto is silly but never gets too deep. For those of you who argue, then you haven't seen One Piece episode 322.
Both are enjoyable. Just not in one sitting, and if you think about it practically everyone in One Piece from Marines to Pirates have some kind of devil skill or power, just like every Ninja that in Naruto has some kind of Ninjitsu power or technique.
So yes, I can watch the real ONE PIECE, I have seen all 7 movies as well and have them download and on backup DVDs. I have seen both Naruto Movies.
If it make you happy. One Piece out ranks Naruto in terms of sheer amout of episodes, 7 great movies, 5 okay TV specials, and a cute little reindeer name CHOPPER! (he's my favorite).
One Piece right now in Japan -english sub is at 325 episodes and it just keeps getting more exiciting!
Naruto including Shippuhen is at 246 episodes, and is still great!
Apples to Nami Oranges! Both are great fruits, and I pitty those that can't enjoy them both!
But I have seen One Piece and it just does NOT appeal to me at all, not that I care for Naruto
I agree, but most fans tend to stick to their series and not branch out, i personally have not seen or read all of one piece, but what i have is far better than naruto FAR BETTER, but One Piece isnt any more special than Naruto, i prefer FMA
One Piece fans are the same way. and so are BLEACH fanboy.
Personally I watch all three but have a preference for Naruto because it has such great characters. One Piece (not 4kids version) is pretty cool too but doesn't have quite the same mass appeal as Naruto in the west. In the end I guess it come done to the age old question of "Pirates vs. Ninja"
Why should it matter to you? You are up on the #1 anime, and the other's aren't, you always have bragging rights it's that enough?
Naruto is a boy ninja. That's cool and it appeals to American kids. One Piece is a stretchy boy trying to find a treasure. Think about it Ninja boy, stretchy boy looking for treasure.........get it one is just cooler than the other.
By the way doesn't One Piece still come on the Cartoon Network?
I watch Naruto and One Piece every week.
But I must admit I like One Piece more than Nauto.

i mean... ive seen one piece (not the kids version) but i just couldnt stick with it to the end. i got bored of the show, everntually, and just stopped watching it.
naruto, on the other hand, is exciting. the art is better and the characters are cooler. you really get absorbed into the plot!!
also--everyone has shows that they like and dislike. there are so many people i know who are hard core bleach fans... but im not into bleach much at all. its ALRIGHT. i just cant get all into it like i can for naruto and other shows. ^^
I understand where you're coming from ^^ I see that alot with other anime series as well. Personally, I've seen alot of dubbed Naruto & I admit it took me 1 full season to actually "get into it". The canned characters kinda bored me. I didn't watch One Piece then because I heard 4Kids got their hands on it (everyone knows how horrible that co. is >.<) But my good friend told me about Funimation got the licencing for the new ones of One Piece. Although I missed alot of episodes, I can tell right off the bat that it is a cool series. I got right into the first eps. that aired a week ago! Can't wait to see more ^_^
But please, I know where your coming from, but it isn't fair to be too judgemental about Naruto fans. ^_~
Narutards are generally ignorent about most anime. Not just one piece :-(
It's because most of them only find their anime on cartoon network or saturday morning television. (Most) of them are also 12 - 15 years old. None have ever tried to watch anything 'different or deep'
I am actually a fan of both animes. I watch both One Piece and Naruto Shippuden. I think One Piece is certainly a good anime, however I just don't think the development of the character had changed much since the East Blue era. The character remain fairly similar although Zoro and Luffy had both developed some techniques but nothing too impressive.
The island adventures are certainly enticing, but the whole story does not seem to be rooted very well and the environment are constantly changing. I will have to say that their conquest to save Robin was a bit better developed, however I think it's a bit late into the story for that.
Similar to Naruto's filler, had Naruto's series continue to do that Naruto fans will get tired and eventually lose its interest. I think Shippuden brought growth to the whole Kanoha team and the main mission is back. So I will have to say that in comparison out of the two, I'll have to go with Naruto Shippuden as the winner. I love One Piece, but I think Naruto Shippuden is just made a bit better overall.

God this question is an eyesore! This is what I hate about 'hardcore' anime fans. They get too emotional after hearing a negative view on their favorite shows.
If you want Naruto fans to watch One Piece, say it in a good manner. Can't you just learn the fact that different people have different taste? Who cares about the ratings and poor character development? You should be watching/reading it for pleasure.
I love both Naruto and One Piece, but what I hate most are emotional fans who can't accept other people's view and don't have the courage to ask these viewers to say it in a polite manner.
I don't think Naruto fans are ignorant, they just prefer Naruto compared to One Piece.
My cousin is a big fan of One Piece and whenever we get together, I watch One Piece with him. I don't really like the drawing style, but One Piece is very hilarious. Naruto just isn't much for funny moments but One Piece has a lot. Also, my cousin, as a One Piece fan, doesn't really like Naruto. So, it's just the same on either side of the coin, some Naruto fans don't appreciate One Piece while some One Piece fans don't appreciate Naruto.
But you know what? I totally understand you. Sometimes, I just feel that way about other people who also watch anime. But it's not our place to make them decide. They have the free will to choose what they like and don't like.
Though, next time you do something like this, please don't make it sound like you almost hate Naruto fans for underappreciating One Piece, it just makes them underappreciate One Piece all the more. Plus, with what pzaminator said, just enjoy watching animes, watch it or read the manga for pleasure...don't get too emotional because, in the end, it's just an anime and you can't really do anything about it since you're not the creator.
Don't get me wrong though...I am not criticizing you. I just want you to know my opinions and theories and hopefully, make you see things at a better angle so that you won't waste precious anime time hating other anime lovers.
So, have a great time watching One Piece, it's a good anime.
I hope you try liking Naruto too.^^
