Why are there much more female otakus than male?!
Question: i've noticed this since elementary, i have only met around 10 male otakus and for female...i cannot count it...WHY!! well it's okay because they are otakus anyway, but stil...?

The males you talk to might not be telling you the truth about their otakuness (is that a word?). Ota's generally are not considered to be "cool" and wouldn't wish to advertise this. As you probably know, there's more to being an Ota then enjoying anime. It's more of a likestyle then anything. The best example I could give would be Densha Otoko. A very funny show well worth the watch.
I don't know either.. but I am not complaining hehe joke.. well, maybe there are a lot of shojo stuffs readily available to them, girls outnumber boys..they have this girl power thing.. that we can never understand.. they like dressing up (cosplay) more than male otakus do.. i guess..oh well.. but i guess there are more creepy underground male otakus than female ones ( as a consolation)
are you for real??? no way everyone i know who watches anime is male well maybe because we dont have that much people who speak english anyway
I don't think there actually are are more female otakus than males, just girls are more likely to go on about things they like in public.
some guys i asked found it gay.. and useless to watch..ouch
Are these females worthy of being called "otaku"? B/c all the females I know that are into anime are NOOBS and not worthy of the title otaku. In my experience, I only have two female otaku friends and about 20 male otaku friends. But that's just been my experience.
Hmm...that is interesting to point out. The anime/manga fans that I encounter seem to be split...well, maybe for the non-teen crowd.
