I love D.Gray-man! :D

D.Gray-man is about a bunch of exorcists that been selected by destiny to fight with The Millennium Earl (a Noah clan) and the rest of Noah clan members. The Noah clan has a plan to destroy the world in the future, and to accomplish this, they produce Akuma. So it is an exorcists' job to stop the world from being destroyed. Each and every exorcist is born with Innocence, a weapon for them to fight Akuma.

I think D.Gray-man is a cool anime and this is one of the anime that I follow every week, it's still ongoing though with 52 episodes currently... And yes, I agree with the first answerer, the storyline is quite slow compared to other anime like Death Note, and the exorcists tend to fight with the same types Akuma throughout the series so far... But hey, I think the story is progressing well now especially in the new episode and it leaves us some kind of mystery... >_<

I find it hard to drop the series because I just love the concept of this anime and I love all the characters (especially Allen)! Haha... Try to watch it if you want an anime that is unique and different than any types of anime like ninja, sword/samurai, shinigami, mecha, or pirates...

By the way, if you want to find cool rock anime themes, all openings of D.Gray-man is the answer... ;)

short description of D.Gray man:

Allen Walker is a young Exorcist who has a cursed eye that can see the suffering of the Akumas(demons from human souls) created by The Millenium Earl. He travels to England to the Headquarters of the Exorcists where his Master has sent him to meet with the other Exorcists. The battle with the Millenium Earl and the Noah Family vs. the Exorcists intensifies when some of the best Exorcists begin to get killed by hoards of Akuma. Japan takes center stage in this end of 19th Century plot in order to not let the entire human race be turned into Akumas and the Exorcists have the power of "Innocence" that was given to them by God on their side.

For me, I liked d. gray man at the start up to about 30 episodes. It was too long for my taste although I still download and watch the latest episodes (only because I find it hard to drop this title because I have already invested so much time watching it) *btw its up to 52 episodes now and is ongoing.

I think other people might enjoy this kind of anime but i would have liked it better if it had more comedy or maybe a bit of romance mixed in with all the action. Also, the akuma enemy looks really redundant ... I mean they all look the same from episode to episode. Imagine 50 episodes of fighting enemies that look the same with fighting style and weapons that don't change.

Having said that, I still download and watch it.

i stopped watching it though cuz i move on to some other anime. i was at around ep 10
