Any heroes watchers out there?!

Question: Why dosent nathan want to be a father to claire?

Answers: Why dosent nathan want to be a father to claire?

Becuase firstly if the press knew his chances of him staying at his position would decrease. Secondly becuase he has a family of his own. His wife is disabled because of him I dont think he is gonna wanna cause her more trouble.

Married guy, doesn't want to own up to having a child, especially as his wife is in a wheelchair, and maybe can't have kids, apart from that no idea.

mainly its cos he's in an important political position and it's near an election so uncovering a child could ruin his chances/reputation etc. They want to keep it covered up as the bad publicity would affect his campaign.

also he's moved on and has a family

I really don't know but, I agree with the other 2 answers.

Because he then has to own up to have had an affair. If the news leaked to the press, then it would cause a scandal during his election campaign... and he would not be able to stand for Governor...

Teddy, Blossom and Sam have almost said it all.
There's not much to ask. Political pressure is huge. Bastard child?! Forget it! The press would eat him alive.

Having an illegitimate child would be likely to damage his political career.

He's a politician and it would have ruined his career.

Married and he has based his campaign on being a good loyal family man.

does anybody even pay attention to the show? he gave up politics because of the loss of Peter, and ended up losing his marriage, AND custody of his kids. remember? his mom scolded him on the futility of feeling guilty of losing Peter. he also went to see his kids at their school, and the teacher told him he wasn't supposed to be there. Nathan has always been in the position to not use his powers, and has attempted to hide them, BECAUSE of what happened to his wife (remember? he was daydreaming while driving, and flew out of the car, causing it to crash with his wife inside, causing her paralysis). my opinion, he wants to stay away from the 'hero' aspect of his life, even if it includes shunning his 'hero' illegitimate daughter, and now the loss of Peter.... so he thinks.
