What does manga, OVA and xD mean?!

Question: Manga are Japanese comics, OVA is orginial video animation, and XD is just a very happy smiley.

OVA's are anime released only on video b/c they can't be shown on TV or tell a different story than the original anime or go more in depth or are a prequel/sequel.
