Making manga in america? Does anyone agree with me?!

Question: This subject is really starting to make me angry and offend me......
A lot of people( not everyone ) keeps saying that in order to become
a famous manga artist you have to move to Japan!...I really don't believe this is true....actually I think it's nonesense! If you can become a famouse super hero comic artist like, superman, spiderman etc. I believe you can do the same thing with manga! Manga is more a style of drawing rather than a type of book! It's
just like an american comic book just drawn in a different style and sometimes read differently. I believe the same thing you can do in
Japan you can do in America! For example...The Boondocks is an
american comic book drawn in a manga style & it has an anime television series....Who to say you cannot become a famous manga artist in america! I want to become a manga artist & I hate
when people say I have to move to japan...I'll prove you all wrong
when I become as great as Akira Toriyama or Masashi Keishimoto!
Does anyone agree?

i also absolutely positively agree with you, people in japan say the same thing about american comics, they probably want to make american style comics but believe that they have to move to america, which is so not true. so u could absolutely be a great manga author/artist. (maybe not as great as masahi) but still great regardless. Good Luck

I totally agree with you

I totally agree with you man. You can make your book where ever you want. and how ever you want.

I kind of agree but i think Japanese people have manga drawing skills in their blood. What makes me angry is when i pick up a manga booka and it's written the way round that literature books are written. But i think people shouldn't be discriminated in the maga community just because they aren't Japanese. I read alot of manga but i gotta admit that the ones that are written by Japanese authors are better in my opinion but i doubt thats because they're Japanese. Don't be put off though by the fact that you're not Japanese or don't live in Japan. P.S Or become as great as Ken Akamatsu!

Well it is really difficult to become a Mangaka even in Japan
But it isn′t impossible
I agree with you

well.all i can say is..i think the reason why people say that you have to be in japan... is because Manga originate from japan.. it's a japanese word of comics.Manga as a term outside of Japan refers specifically to comics originally published in Japan. However, manga and manga-influenced comics, among original works, exist in other parts of the world, particularly in Korea ("manhwa") and in the People's Republic of China, including Hong Kong ("manhua"). In France, "la nouvelle manga" is a form of bande dessinée drawn in styles influenced by Japanese manga. In the United States, manga-like comics are called AMERIMANGA, world manga, or original English-language manga (OEL) manga. so it's not called a manga.. if you are making one... and in anime its also a japanese word of animation it originated from japan... so it's different. But everyone has a different opinion... if you want to know more about manga here a info about it.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manga

i agree with you

YOU GO BOY!!!! I love manga as much as the next guy but you don't have to live in Japan to be famous for it. Take Mike Crilley. He lives in Michigan, is a mangaka, and he visits Japan. Not lives, visits and I think his manga series is really good except the eyes should be a lot bigger. I say you can live were you want and still go for the gold!
