but i got him to watch it with me & he really liked it. its a comedy//romance.

Another chick flick that I would recommend is "Love Actually" but it is has a more serious tone with a few hilarious scenes.
My friend told me that "The Devil Wears Prada" was really funny too, but I've never seen it.
And finally, if you want a serious chick flick that isn't well known but is actually really good: "Life as a House". I really don't think this movie ever got the recognition that it deserved because the story doesn't sound very appealling. As long as you can get passed how annoying Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars) can be, this movie is really good although it can be slow at times.
