When Pein detected Jiraiya's presence in Chapter 367 of Naruto, he considered Jiraiya a dangerous opponent, judging from his high Chakra level. But Pein is the leader of the Akatsuki, an organization with S-rank criminals who are all wanted and dangerous, and he exhibits the ability to clone his subordinates with the Shapeshifting Technique, in which he uses human sacrifices to create a perfect copy of another person, controlled by the original. And has many other powerful jutsus. Jiraiya is skilled and knows lots of strong jutsus, after all, he was taught by the 4th Hokage. So it really is hard to tell...But personally I think the Legendary Sannin are more skilled then the Akatsuki =)

Jiraya! I think he'll kick pain's butt in an instant. Have you seen him when he is on full battle frog mode? (naruto manga 376) That was the first time i saw him as really cool. He looks like he can beat three akatsui members at the same time. (I said looks like ,,,, let's wait and see what happens on chapter 377)

Jiraiya but i think the fight will probably take 2 months for the fight to finish. BTW i find it suspicious that in jiraiya dies in movie 4, and jiraiya starts one of his most diff fights! conviniant isn't it.
