Answers: I know this is old but I dont have anyone to tell me really and I stopped collecting comics a while back.

pretty much peter was backed into a corner
he was working for tony stark at the time and stark was revealing his identity and any one else who did not wwould be branded a criminal and be hunted down.
he had no choce he also thought it was the right thing to do and that MJ and aun May would be protected by stark and the govermnent. that didnt work out all that well. he soon realized that stark was wrong and joined the resistance and aunt may and mj were now in trouble with no protection

Because he was going through some rough times and he felt people hated him already and he didn't feel appreciated so he just threw in the towel

His major personality trait is insecurity.

He just wants to be loved, and a secret identity limits that ability.

Unmasked to show people that he is not a spider but man

Tony Stark pushed him into doing it.

Tony had been paying Peter to be #2 on the whole registration act thing, so for the first time Peter didn't need to worry about money or the safety of May or MJ (thanks to Stark Industry security). However Tony went public, and then wanted Peter to follow suit. When Peter hesitated, Tony threatened to let Peter go. This, combined with the propaganda Tony had been feeding him, convinced Peter that it was the right thing to do. He later regretted it.

Lems nailed it, he joined the avengers.

Lem is right.

everyone else just talk out their blow holes.

It's like a twisted storyline from "Civil War"
And yeah, he is forced by Tony Stark

he wanted to take responsibility for everything he did.

He auditioned for Superman!
