Super heroes and their super costumes?!

Question: has anyone noticed that some super heroes(like spiderman and superman) are in red and blue. like as if to represent the colors of our flag and ultimatly america?

But then there's super heroes like batman dressed in black, roams at night, dark and mysterious.

If you have a comment or an example to either red and blue(america/american flag) or dark , like black(but supposed to be a hero) answer this question.

A good comment/example/ answer(to why the creators used those colors) can earn you 10pts for best answer!!!!

yea it could be for america or a positive outlook. i think that dark brooding characters wouldnt look good in yellow haha. i cant imagine someone who loves to be alone in the dark would dress up in yellow. it would distract from the mood the artist is trying to create.

i think thats what there trying to do is get the good guys rep. the country

well it seems that the super heros that are more brightly colored seem to have a better out look on like ...for instance peter parker although nerdy is still a seemingly happy individual ....leading to why he is in a more bright red and blue look ... but when its venom he becomes his out look on life is dark and less happy there fore he is all in black .... or bruce wayne ...he came from a tragic back ground ... not really ever feeling happy or loved due to the loss of his parents ... althought he did have money ...he still has that dark side to him ....leading him to a more secluded lifestyle heince the black for his costume .......... or thats just what i think i dunno ...hope that helps

colors influence us more than we know!

did you know that the colors of christmas and casino's (red and green) attract money to business?

did you know that red and yellow make you hungry? so does orange (red and yellow mixed)

here is a couple of websites.

first take the color quiz! it is so neat.

Their costumes were not intentionally meant to signify the US flag with the exception of Captain America. I don't remember where I first heard this (maybe John Byrne), but primary colors were chosen for the good guys while secondary colors were chosen for the bad guys. In the case of Batman, I can only guess that black was considered a primary color since it was one of the four colors used in early comic coloring.
