Question: Hey guys! (I'm talking to boys =) ) Anyway, my friend was worrying about something really weird and I wanted to ask you guys if you agree with him. He wants to know if a high school student like 10th grade watching romance anime, movie and TV are weird. Do you guys think so too? I think it doesn't really matter. What do you guys think?

I am a 23 yr old man and I am far from gay or "weird", as you so call it. I watch romance anime and movies/Television series a lot, as a matter of fact I watch it more then action anime. I have even cried a couple of times, especially from Full Moon wo Sagashite and Ah! My Goddess, (2 of my favorite animes). Hell, I still like Pokemon and I'm not ashamed to say it because unlike most people these days, I'm not afraid to say who I really am.
Just because someone may like "sappy" things, or things that are more popular with girls then boys, doesn't mean their gay or weird, thats a biased and very prejudice opinion as well as an incorrect stereotype. A man who can get in touch with his sentimental side and sensitive side has much better luck with a long lasting marriage then one whom has no such side at all, take it from me. I can even safely say I used to collect stuffed animals when I was still in my teens and late teens, nowadays I only have a few plushes, since my house burned down a 2 years ago.
Honestly, those who adore to spread rumors and stereotype about such things are those with little compassion.
To put it simply, who you are... is just who you are, thats that and thats how I've always seen it.
You know theres tomboys right? Girls who act manly or boyishly, but are still very much attracted to men. Well, theres also tomgirls, guys who like "girly" things, like romance, as you say, but that don't mean they can't be attracted to women. Personally though, I wouldn't say I like girly things, I say, I like things that appeal to me. Hell, I hate all sports, except tennis and volleyball.
Any way, to put it bluntly, theres nothing wrong with your friend, thats just who he is.
By the way, I'm very much straight, not bi or gay.
Keep in mind also, that just cause a guy may like romancey stuff don't mean he is some hentai freak to, I honestly despise "cartoon porn", its disgusting. So please, don't stereotype.

A lot of guys watch anime and get on hooked on romance anime because of girl friends or sisters and then go skateboarding, football, etc...

No it's not weird. Lot's of people are different. (I am a tomboy)
It's like a girl who plays football (me) or a boy loves making dresses.
It's not so bad... it shows a side of the male ego that isn't often seen by women: the sensitive side.
Romance is a splintered thing... it can make or break a person's spirit in the blink of an eye and knowing early-on what steps to avoid and which to advance toward is a smart way to go about wooing the women whose personalitites are most like that of the characters in the Anime's and television shows. I might worry a little bit if he was using Hentai (Japanese Animated Porn) as a stepping stone toward dating, but what your friend is doing is not out of the norm; I would actually encourage it. Just let it be, there's worse things he could be watching.

hes not weird at all, its called being a Romantic (something a lot of girls like)
im a romantic, in high school, and one of my favorite showes (animated and non) is Ouran High School Host Club. Yes, there are some chick-flick movies that are more of "guilty pleasures" (ahem...10 things i hate about you) but its still ok to watch

im a girl... but i dont think that it is weird for a guy to watch anime....some people just like to watch different stuff.. everyones different...it doesnt matter what people watch cuz its not like they are going to know anyways... :)
