as far as i know, Code Geass resembles DN the most as both protagonists have their own interpretation of justice. you should check it out. its really good. another one is jigoku shoujo. both animes are twisted in their own ways.
There aren't any that are JUST LIKE Death Note, but if you like stuff that's suspenseful and thought provoking, Monster might be a good one. It starts out really slow, but it's worth watching through the slow stuff until it gets really good. Essentially, it's about a doctor who saves a little boy instead of the mayor of his city and loses his credibility...and the little boy he saved turns out to be a serial killer. It's really hard to summarize the series, because there are so many twists and turns in the story. It's VERY well written, however, and I would highly recommend it.
There is no anime like death note. BUT if you want to watch an anime that is smart and makes you think watch Neon Genesis Evangelion or Gunslinger Girl. Both are very smart and Neon Genesis Evangelion is considered to be one of if not the best anime ever!
