Can someone convince me that Naruto should be hokage?!
Question: Other than the fact that he wants it soooo badly and that he is strong, why should he be the hokage?
These are others who I think have him matched or beat in certain catergories:
Knowledge: Shikamaru, Neji, Shino, numerous others
Determination to be Hokage: Kiba
Willingness to fight: Rock Lee
So will you be the one to convince me that he should be the Hokage?

If naruto becomes hokage then the leaf village willl gain many friends and allies because it is an accepted fact in the naruto anime world that naruto has a special power. He makes someone like him and makes friends even in a short span of time. It was repeatedly established in the gaara kidnapping arc. Kakashi said that to elder chiyo and the elder acknowledged that naruto will make a strong hokage someday.
Even the 5th (tsunade) acknowledged him to be the next hokage in the early parts of the naruto series. (when he learned the rasengan arc)
He beat Gaara in the past (while gaara was using his monster at full power) and gaara is the kazekage. For me, this implies that in terms of power to be hokage, naruto is fit for the job.
Furthermore, being hokage is not a question of who is the smartest or who is the most determined. It is a question of who is the strongest and naruto is obviously a candidate for that especially when he can harness the chakra of the nine tails fox.

I take back everything i said earlier ,,,, Shikamaru is the man and naruto is a grunt. Only the genius shikamaru should be the hokage! He was the first chounin of his batch which makes him far superior than naruto! *whew* =)
i agree that he shouldnt become Hokage lol... if anything it should be Shikamaru or Sasuke!
Even Neji is a possible outcome. but you know that by the end of the naruto legend.. considering his name is the show... he will end up being a Hokage. Its kinda retarded if you ask me...
Yeah.. sasuke should be the hokage... i mean betraying the village and leaving to join with orochimaru would go down great with the voters.... Naruto is a Jinchuuriki, therefore he is more capable of getting incredible strength
What you say may be true, but can you tell me one other character that has the balance of all three.
Naruto
Knowledge: He is willing to listen to Shikamaru, Kakashi, and other people because they have mutual respect.
Determination: Naruto has way more than Kiba. What are you talking about, but none the less Naruto has the attitude that inspires people not the arrogance of Kiba.
Willingness to fight: Rock Lee has the willingness to fight, but he is a little reckless and puts his own dreams ahead of everything even his own life. That is not what the Hokage needs. The Hokage needs to value his own life because his life is the safety of the village and have selflessness to put his own dreams aside to do so. Naruto's dream is to be Hokage and therefore will put all his willingness to fight into his role as Hokage and not be distracted as much by his own personal goal.
Edit: Also in comparison to Bush, Naruto can listen to advice and make the right choices. He also has better advisors. He can be reckless, but now that he is older he seems to be reckless only when it is for others. That can be benificial when trying to be Hokage and he seems to calm down with the aid of his friends. As for the uncontrollable nine-taled fox. As long as he doesn't use it, it should be fine. He is actually pretty powerful without it
As for the others
Shikamaru - does not have the heart of the Hokage. tireless, adamant, etc. Shikamaru just takes what life gives him and develops a plan instead of making the world his to mold.
Neji - disturbed, partial, cold, stubborn, and he has a seal that the Hyuga clan can control him with. He can't be trusted with Hokage
Kiba - He is a thug. Nothing more
Rock Lee - No brains and rediculous logic

he should be hokage because he has a skill of turning strangers/enemies into friends. No more wars and differences. This has been the struggle of the villages, and naruto will their redeemer.
Well, in answer to your last edit, Naruto deos have the ability to get people to like him. BUT being hokage is being the strongest in the village. Tsunade rightfully deserves that title, being the best medical ninja in history and having super strength.
Anyways, Naruto should be hokage because he has almost unlimited strength due to the nine tails, nobody knows his true limit as of yet and he can persevere in any situation. As hokage he would use this strength as gaara did while fighting dedara, except for the direct benefit of konoha. And while Naruto isnt the brightest of people he has the ability to learn. Nobody else has the same level of drive to become hokage because they dont have as much to prove as him and Rock Lee would get crushed by naruto so whatever, but Naruto loves a good fight too. I think Naruto should become the Hokage and is the only one that fits the job, but Konahamaru doesnt deserve it at all.

Dude according to the manga he has started to control the nine tail. He is not perfect at it but is getting there. He acctually beats orochimaru when he has the 4 tails out. And he now has a new jutsu a really powerfull variant of rasingan ( its not odama rasingan).

but naruto has to destended to be hakage because the 1st is grandfather of the 5th and the naruto have a great connection the long way is th 1st & 2nd taught the 3rd and he taught jiraya and jiraya taught the 4th who taught kakashi who taught naruto
