Does the rest of the world know that what anime/manga is and that it is from Jap!
Question: Does the rest of the world know that anime and manga is a Japanese* art or do they think of it as just "cool cartoons"?
*Although anime/manga is a mainly a Japanese art and Japan makes practically all of the popular series, Korean comics known as "manhwa" and Chinese comics known as "manhua" are quite similar and have the same style of drawing. Also Korean and Chinese animations almost always have anime characteristics. "Anime-style" drawing is more of an East Asian art as a whole. Japanese manga/anime is just more known than Chinese or Korean Manhua and Manhwa and animation.

I thought only Japanese did that. (of course I only started reading manga) What are the difference? Only where they are from?

Anime/Manga is fastly getting in to Popular preteen/Teen culture thesedays. So anyone with a lil bit brain power will try to figure out why the cartoon is called Anime and not Animation or the drawings are called Manga not Commic.
The Korian and Chinese manhwa(ua) are not nearly as popular as Manga. So people who are not intrested in those might not know about the names.
I think if u have such information this is not the ideal place to put them. Put it up in the Wikipedia, so any one intersted will find the fact (without feeling that you are retarded)
