Sephiroth. There can be no question.
Goku may be a great Ninja and all, but Sephiroth is the baddest of the bad.
For those of you who don't remember playing FF7, there was a flashback cutscene wherein Cloud and Sephiroth were fighting a dragon. Cloud attacked it and did about 20 damage. Sephiroth killed it -- over 3000 damage -- in one hit.
You really can't even compare Goku to Sephiroth.

goku has the power to destroy universes too. he can teleport behind seph and rip his head clean off.really with how many tons he can lift and the energy level of his ki blasts there is no real comparison.goku is a fighting genius and could come up with something to win.
hmm well goku can move at the speed of light so their speed isnt equal.also goku doesnt just have to shoot a blast forward. he could make a huge sphere around him if he wants so dodging wont really work forever.plus im sure trunk's sword which was crafted by very powerful beings is stronger than seph's sword and goku stopped that with one finger and could easily break it.
Well, personally, I am a minor Dragonball Z fan myself, but I got to go with SEphiroth.
Sephiroth has a speed that can rival even Goku's ( Final Fantasy 12 Advent Children movie). He has a super long sword, too. Both he and Goku can fly, so there's no advantage there. Although Goku has energy blasts and all that, sephiroth can easily dodge them. Sephiroth can also keep a good 10-20 feet distance seeing that he has a terribly long sword.
Also, Goku has to much compassion and will end up leaving him alive.
It may be a close fight, but for all I know, it could turn out to be a draw.

Cause Sephirot only have his sword. Well, he migth and strong in FF world but if a fight with Goku, he doesnt stand a chance. Think logically, people.
BTW, Im a fan of them both. Especially Sephiroth.
