How many people can tell the difference between anime and cartoons?!

I'm a HUGE anime fan. I seriously can't see how some people don't see the differece! its a disgrace!
i dont know..i keep thinking anime is some kind of japanese cartoon thing and i guess their drawn differently or something not sure..lol

anime characters hav unusual clothing and/or designs on their face cartoons are casual like humans.
i can....u just look and anime has certain faetures that regular carttons dont...like eyes, hair, outline..stuff like that
There's a lot of style difference, as far as I'm concerned. Although apparently, lots of stuff you'd think is anime is now produced in the States or Europe... So, I guess I'd have a fairly hard time guessing...
Pretty much everyone. u can tell by the people in it. Its pretty easy. If i ever met someone who couldnt, i would roundhouse kick their face off
I didn't know there was a difference. I watch manga etc I simply thought anime was a type of animation. but so are cartoons I suppose.

Anime means who animated( watch any animated film) and cartoons means who don't animate( read comic books). I think this answer is sufficient.
Well the main difference is the eyes. While cartoon eyes are big as well, they aren't normally so detailed and everything is always more rounded while in animes the drawings will seem more angular. Everything in animes are usually much more detailed and most animes usually involve romance (and usually a pervert as well). XD
I can. Its the way everything is drawn where you can tell the difference. Not a fan of anime.

If you're not a big fan.... You probably notice that it's different, but won't think much of it. Of course the styles are different (depending on what you watch) and I think they're quite noticeable
Anime usually refers to Japanese Animation. If that is what you are asking, then there are some points to look at.
ok the first difference is the eyes. they are usually triangular or rectangular. There really aren't any lashes to speak of. they just thicken the lines near the outer edge of the eye for men. For girls, there are a couple of thick lashes on the outer edge. Next is the famous anime hair. This is usually spiked in outrageous, but gorgeous designs. If you don't have much drawing experience, this hair is near impossible to copy :p then there are the noses, they almost always appear in side shots, so they look like a triangle missing the side. Then of course, their is the outrageous hair color, that is always there in atleast one character of the show/movie. Like the famous blue, silver, green, pink, or purple hair. Americans have tried to copy the japanese animation, but their's are usually not so angular and not so realistic.
Welll... I'm a big fan but when I wasn't 4 years ago all I saw was big eyed freaks. And the villians actuallly didn't suck! They got through with their plan like in the show Naruto... gaara has no more demon. That alone sets it apart. Plus even teh cut version of the english kind is still rated higher a lot of the time. and it has fighting and action and the humor is more crude for younger viewers too.
Even if you never saw anime: YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL!!!
I know a handful of people who can tell anime from cartoons, including my own family who doesn't watch anime, lol. Anime usually has big eyes, funky do's, and SD/Chibi charas, and a storyline a whole lot more complex than cartoons. Add a little bishounen in the mix, and it's definitely anime.
my friend hardly knows what anime is. BUT he can tell them apart easily. Because of the style and characters.
