It didn't get "canceled", the people who made the show decided to bring it to a close. Not everything runs forever and ever for as long as just a few people are paying attention, sometimes the people who write a series decide that it's better to bring something to a close while things are good than to just force it to keep going long after its overstayed its welcome. RedvsBlue came to a conclusion at the end of its fifth season, with episode 100 (although there are five alternate endings for episode 100). They did promo videos for the XBox 360 using Halo 3, but that's it. They might start the show back up again someday in the future, but for now it's at an end.
