Why on the Superman costume it says: "Cape will not enable user to fly"!

Question: Maybe a six year old read that and decided not to jump off the roof?

Answers: Maybe a six year old read that and decided not to jump off the roof?

This is so that kids will not misunderstand and actually try to fly in a Superman costume. A few years back when some kid tried to make like the Penguin and jumped of a roof with an umbrella thinking it would either become a helicopter or at least function like a parachute. Kids being kids sometimes live in a world of their own and experiment and do the darndest things.

they dont wanna get sued for not tellin ya

because there is always one person stupid enough to try it

Mainly so they couldn't be held accountable for the person who does believe that a Superman cape can grant you flying abilities.

Because some idiot will try it; then sue!

so that jerry seinfeld can continue his career

it's so someone wont put the cape on, try to fly, an end up hurting or killing themselves. plus, in the event that someone did that, the company isn't liable and cant be sued.

they are taking precaution so they dont get sued, some people are actually stupid enough to think that because superman can fly, if they get the costume, the cape will make them fly too. here's a link to some stupid people who sued for really dumb stuff!

Actually, those warnings are there because someone DID try it.
That shouldn't surprise anyone, though.

Because there are some people out there who would actually think they could fly if they put on a Superman costume.

Truth in Labeling law. LOL

There is always some fool who will try to fly with it.

X) lol (should have told me that before) jk

It's there for legal reasons...

One word can answer this question: lawyers.

its like when you buy a hot cup of coffee and it says on the side....."caution hot" really? i didn't know

I LOVE it when merchandise have stupid stuff on it like that! It makes me laugh, kinda like what I'm doing now.
Yes, you presume correctly, although I am willing to bet my apartment it's not just six year olds who try to fly with a polyester cape. Some really stupid twenty-something hard core video-gamer/comic book reader probably tried to jump out of his window, or off the roof, or off a bridge, ect. Heck-come to think of it, dozens of people have probably done it.

I pity the ignorance that has come to existence in this world.

Because it is a little known fact, that 1 in one billion Superman capes are actually sprinkled with Pixie dust and therefore you can fly, provided you are under 3 feet tall, capable of thinking happy thoughts constantly and really want to go to Metropolis. The labels are to let you know you are not lucky enough to have won the lottery. You are Jimmy Olsen
